Bonjour, me AGAIN I have my op supposedly in 2-3 months but in the meantime THIS PAIN IS JUST GETTING WORSE AND WORSE and I can't seem to find any pain relief that wants to work even a little bit! My doctor won't give me anything stronger than 30/500 co-codamol which doesn't even touch me, she seems to think I am too young for anything stronger....bearing in mind I am a 5ft 11 20 year old..some how I think I could cope but heyho....I guess I just have to wait for my op!! :(

sorry you are in so much pain
i was going to suggest co codamol but you are already on it
i,ve only had sciatica the once and never felt pain as cbad as that

Mines caused by my 2 slipped discs :(

If you are overweight then sciatica will be much worse than if you were normal bodyweight. Its a strain on your spine. Try to eat less food and at same time use pump and bg testing to adjust pump settings to keep bg within sensible target, and then your bodyeeight should reduce steady and slowly.

You dont have to eat low csrb and revert to nuts, cheese, cream and coconut oil if you cant afford to. Just cut down on the food with carb in it a bit at every meal, drink warm water and practice mind over matter.

I barely eat anymore anyway! My weight doesn't want to budge no matter what I do!

What are you eating then.......
Toast for breakfast...as I do not have the money to get blueberries and yoghurt...was meant to have blueberries today but they leaked all in the fridge so there is now a bloody puddle of blueberry juice in the fridge...well I cleared it up but it has stained! Lunch is ryvita's with marmite...and dinner is whatever I am given, or if I have money then I will do something! You're gunna lecture me but I really don't need it

Im not gonna lecture you...... for breakfast I just eat 3 small dsp of basic cheap brand of porridge, put in pudding bowl, boiling watrr from kettle to cover it, let it stand for 15mins for porridge to swell, and then use 1tsp of lidl plain yogurt, mix together and sit down and enjoy. I dont use almonds anymore as too expensive and didnt do anything to bg anywsy. I count the porridge to be 12g carb. Bread is higher. Think about it a bit.

Eve meal you can still enjoy but just eat less of what's served up on the dinnerplate. My OH parents didnt mind at all that I ate less than others. Other members of my family also dont mind whst I eat.

I used to have porridge but it spikes my sugars way too much! :/ The only thing that does work for me are the blueberries and yoghurt! I just feel I can't do it! :(

No chance that you can be seen in the Pain Management Clinic at your local hospital?

What could they do? And how would I like get into seeing them for an appointment!

Never been to one but I've heard of people that have who say that it has brought some relief to their discomfort. I would say the consultant would be the best person to refer you, failing that your gp, the trouble is the waiting times might be long and by the time you get an appointment you might have had the operation done, but still it might help with any post-operative pain if there was to be any.
