Type 2 Slow release Metformin?

I'm on 1gram metformin twice a day and was wondering if they have a slow release version as ever since 1st taking this medication I have suffered with constant diahorrea every day.

Yes they do. I had the same issue with the standard metformin and spoke to the pharmacist who arranged for a telephone consultation with my doctor to get the prescription changed. I have had no issues with the SR version.

Yes they do but in my experience the slow release version just made me constipated which ended with explosive diarrhoea. Still might be worth giving it a try and see what happens.
 
Hi. For most people Metformin SR is a more reliable version but it did increase my constipation a little bit (better than the other way!)
 
So far now I have taken 5 SR Metformin tablets and nothing. I was on the regular metformin for 2 years and had to reduce down to one a day as if I had more than one I was on the porcelain more. I have been told to take one for 10 days after dinner then after 10 days take 2 a day so fingers crossed I am fine with it.
