Smart watch compatible with libre 2

I currently use my Samsung galaxy to scan but would like to use a smart watch instead or as well as . Have no idea how to go about this ,any help would be great

Hi @Vik312

Smartwatches only display data relayed through your phone (or possibly a reader) via bluetooth technology and with an appropriate app installed. They don't actually scan your sensor directly. So as far as I am aware, the smartwatch only saves you having to pick up your phone to see your glucose level,

There are some smartwatches being advertised on the web that have a sensor on the back. They claim to be able to measure blood glucose levels directly, but these claims appear to be mostly spurious and not backed up CE marking or FDA approvals. Be wary of shelling out money for these devices and check many user reviews stating that reported glucose levels are way off real finger prick blood test results.

The leading smartwatch manufacturers (Samsung, Apple) have each filed patents for watches that measure blood glucose through skin but this technology (spectroscopy) cannot (currently) cope well with darker skin tones. I assume that this is why they haven't actually brought anything to market.
 
Thank you, I'm happy to run it through my phone and on a watch through an app ,can you advise a suitable watch? It would make it easier for me at work .

I'm not using it so I hesitate to send you off in the wrong direction.

We have a forum specifically for glucose monitoring issues, so I recommend you have a quick look through some recent posts and take note of some the problems people experience.

The 3rd party apps like xdrip, Diabox or juggluco should work. There are some watch faces that may work on WearOS or you can use an app called Wearable Widgets and get an glucose reading displayed on your watch.
