At the beginning of April this year, I was 18st and my T2 diabetes was running amok (though at the time I didn't know it). By the end of the month I had discovered why I was feeling unwell and it was about them I came to this forum. Today I weighed my self and I am now at my lightest for about 10 years (14st 6lbs) and my BG averages between 5.2 and 6.0. I haven't eaten a cake, chip, potato or sweet in almost 5 months, I eat healthy, take fairly regular exercise and I feel fantastic!
On top of that, I have discovered that on 1st September my wife and I will move from our landlocked house in Stafford to a gorgeous seafront home in Burnham on Sea!!! It is for me the fulfilment of a lifelong dream and right now I am struggling to get it into my head that it's all real.
Am I happy? Words can't describe it. Not only do I have my dream home but I now have my health so I can enjoy it. I chose early retirement a few months and expected to live a life of an old man moping around and sleeping endlessly. Instead I am heading to the South West thinking of returning to jogging again, playing badminton or squash and endless walks around the local nature reserves.
My journey on this forum has only just begun, but for what you have helped me achieve no words can express my gratitude.
So if you are ever in BoS and you see an older guy behaving like a 20 year old then laugh because it will probably be me and you are all in part to blame
