So nervous about my diabetes checkup tomorrow..

Hi all.. you have have see n some of my other posts on here before explaining I'm in a bad phase with my diabetes, I haven't been testing half as much as I should be and my care isn't there like it used to be, so I am quite nervous about seeing the diabetes team tomorrow.. when they ask me how is everything going I really don't know what I'm going to say, I don't know how to tell them its all not so good at the moment. Does anyone have any advice? Have you been in this situation before?

Yes I have been there in my 20-30s tell them how things are it's not a telling off remember they are there to help you! Let me know how you get on x

It was alright, it took me just under an hour to drive to the appointment and the appointment only took 10 minutes! haha oh well..

But I didn't tell the full story of how I'm doing, I missed out that I'm not testing as much as I should be because at the time when I was there I thought theres nothing she can do to make me test and I guess I'm just going to try to get motivated again.. I wish now that I had told her though!
 
why not ask for another appointment sweetie and this time write it all down for them
Its easier to write that vocalise I have always found

Your team's there to monitor, help, encourage and advise but they recognise that it's always up to the individual in the end.

It looks like you're actually doing quite well at this - by asking yourself some difficult questions, recognising where you're going wrong and sharing your thoughts with this forum. Lots of people bottle it up, or forget about it and expect it all to go away - I know I did.

No it wasn't, it was a waste of time!

Sorry, but to be blunt, rather than hide the truth why don't you do what you know has got to be done.

Look after yourself. Make the decision to get back in the habit of self-care. You know it's got to be done and judging from your post you know how to do it, just lost your way a little. Time to get back on track I'm afraid - I know it can be a pain but it sure as hell beats the alternatives if you don't get a grip.

Hi Jelaca. To try to get you back on the right track can you remind us how you do currently inject i.e. timings and units and measure and what your readings are when you do test? Can you let us know what stops you doing what you know needs to be done. It must be very difficult for a 19yr old, but perhaps someone here can offer advice that makes the day easier for you. BTW I always book a double i.e. 20 min appointment for my annual diabetes review; that's what the surgery recommends.

I want to say thank you everyone.. whenever I post something on here you are all so supportive and it does make a difference, so thank you

I am currently on 2 injections of Levemir, morning and evening and Novorapid with meals. I think what I find hard is testing before I eat.. especially with dinner as I am hungry so I just want to eat! I tested today though and hopefully I will make sure I do after today as well
