I saw my doctor recently because I was worried about the weight I had lost without actually doing anything to loose it I had lost about a stone over a few months and was down to 81/2 st
The doctor sent me to the hospital for a chest xray and a full blood test .....the chest xray because I am an ex smoker and unexplained weight loss can be a symptom of lung cancer.
Anyway today went to the doctors for the results and everything is fine lungs are clear and blood tests all normal..Still a bit of a mystery as to why I have lost the weight as I have not changed anything much in my diet, I don't eat much in the way of starchy carbs like rice pasta bread as I am not keen on them but I did cut out potatoes and root veg because of my prediabetes . I feel perfectly well and I have been doing a bit more walking since we got our dog but she is only a little dog so we don;t walk miles every day but maybe just that is enough for me to have lost some weight. I would like to put on a few pounds again though so does anyone have any tips on that I have heard whey protein shakes are good
I used to have to have like bran flake stuff that sprinkled on food and added 'secret' calories.
I didn't actually put on but it kept me stable at about 7st 3lb which was still too light but better
Oh! how I miss those days!!! :] hit the menopause and rocketed to 12st and now 10st 7 lb and fighting!!
Hi. I can't remember on your other posts whether you have mentioned your age? If younger it is always possible for T2 to be mis-diagnosed as Late Onset T1. Unexpected loss of weight plus ever-rising blood sugar are typical symptoms. If increasing your calorie intake just makes your sugar rise without weight gain you may need to consider this possibility
