... a group of Accu Chek Spirit Combo users all get together in the same room :?: Do all the pumps and remotes start randomly talking to each other and everyone's remote is controlling some one elses pump :?: Just wondering.

No one knows? Oh well, will have to try and find out somewhere else.

Bluetooth devices pair with each other. So your pump and your meter are paired. Theoretically, they won't recognise the other pumps/meters in the room unless you attempt to pair when in range of other devices. Even then you need to select the device for pairing to complete.

That's the theory anyway. I doubt a maker of such expensive kit would allow something as simple as that to cause a malfunction, otherwise it'd break down every time you went near a bluetooth enabled mobile phone or laptop.

Sam.

No, as Sam says, they are paired. What happened in my pump training session (6 of us sat around a dining table), was that we paired our monitors with our pumps, and that was the only thing they talked to. The only problem we had was that mine wouldn't talk to anything...and sometimes, if people got a bit close, they couldn't connect at all either....but there was nobody getting false messages from anybody else! I have noticed, that if I do a sneaky blood test, say in the theatre etc, and I am close to lots of others with blue tooth devices, it does make connecting the pump and monitor difficult though.

hmm that's interesting. thanks for that.
so best to avoid people talking on blue tooth in their cars etc when i need to use my pump
