Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Diet only
I was diagnosed Type 2 a year ago ( 7.6 ) Since then I have Used the LCHF way of eating. My blood sugar reading continues to be below 5.3 . If I went to a new doctor now and he did not know my circumstances, would he diagnose me as diabetic? Not that I am going to, just interested.

Probably not. While 2 HBa1c readings over 49 confirm T2 Diabetes, a reading under 42 doesn't confirm that you are not

Are these numbers your HbA1c? Are you quoting percentages or mmol/L?

I was told normal people were 41 above that wwere diabetic but Insulin dependant diabetics like myself can be 59 which wa smy last two readings

He will probably not diagnose you as a diabetic unless he has reasons to investigate further.

But not being diagnose doesn't mean we are metabolically healthy. As T2D, we have impaired glucose AND insulin response. We may be able to normalize our glucose and insulin levels thru diet/exercise/medication. We may have achieved remission/reversal etc, but we remain impaired. Very few have manage to fully restore normalized responses.
