So you're in the pub and you're designated driver for the evening. What do you drink?

I just end up with pints of tap water and I wouldn't mind drinking something with a taste

I am designated driver on Fridays and enjoy soda with ice and slice of lemon .

Beware the fluffing Diet Coke that probably fluffing well isn't. I ask for bottles of Diet Coke now. More expensive but worth it for peace of mind. I've also used my blood tester a couple of times to check the Diet Coke that wasn't!

I think there is about 5-6g of carbs in a bottle of alcohol free Lager, such as Becks Blue, or San Miguel 0%

I have never drunk one, nor ever will so I can't recommend them.

Fizzy water, ice and lemon.

I ADORE bitter lemon, but i never order it because i would have to check it was diet AND check which sweeteners are in that brand (cos i get a bit um... insomniac/hyper on some sweeteners) so i never bother. But i do like it. :D

Some pubs have tea, or herbal infusions. When the cup is too fancy, I feel a bit odd though :bag:

Ordered a coffee last night only to find they only had sugar. No sweetener. Not impressed. I've also fallen foul of the full fat coke instead of diet problem.

I would be lost without sparkling mineral water. When I lived in Europe there was a very nice cheap German sparkling mineral water brand at Lidl. Sparkling mineral water at the pub is a bit more expensive - but still very refreshing, and the bubbles make bubbly-positive folk feel good! (Soda water is cheaper at the pub, but I read somewhere that there is something not so good for us in it but I can't for the life of me remember what that was! Sorry!) And yeah - a slice of lime or lemon makes it even more exciting! :).

I keep one of those robin sons squashed bottles in my bag for the pub. I get a pint of water and a straw and mix it myself.
