can i have a yogurt sometimes if so which are ok
and ice lollys
any idea s for a desert
any ideas please
i mss my chocolate

I have blueberries with clotted cream for a treat, or a dessert spoon of organic peanut butter (make sure no sugar added). Strawberries and raspberries are very yummy sweet things. You can have yoghurt as long as its unsweetened I have Greek Yoghurt for breakfast most days.

Hi. Make sure any yoghurt doesn't have added sugar; most do. I use Irish Yoghurts no-sugar added fruit variety. If you still want chocolate then go for 85% dark. Green & Blacks 85% is very low carb and I find it has the best taste of the various 85% brands. I can't imagine there are any no-sugar added ice-lollies!

I make my own sugar free ice lollies using lolly molds and sugar free cordials. I would be lost without my Vimto ice lollies on a hot day.

I have an icecream maker (low tech one but it does the job) and use greek yog and berries to make yummy ice cream, its a bit hard but it satisfies a craving - although nothing is quite as good as Mr Whippy

mr whippy yummy (sigh)
i shall get some greek yogurt today
and some ice lollys

Most supermarkets do punnets /packets of frozen strawberries/raspberries.
I've used Lidl and Morrisons.
You can get out a small portion in advance to thaw, or I usually blitz mine for a minute in the microwave, then enjoy them with Greek yoghurt

Did you check the label for the amount of carbs? Some 'healthy option' type things have loads of sugar in them to make them taste nice, so they're not that 'healthy' after all.

Apart from natural yoghurt (which I find very unpalatable unless sweetened with Splenda) the lowest carb of the flavoured yoghurts I've found is Shape - typically about 10g carbs in a pot though, so I don't know whether that's ok for you, it is for me!

Sometimes I get the Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt, which is creamier and comes in bigger portions, and mix it with a tin of raspberries (in fruit juice) and some sweetener. I think it works out higher than the Shape option but it's more satisfying. I suppose you could use half a tin and put the rest in a tupperware box, it would last a day or two.

I always think blueberries with greek yogurt is nice ... also I have an old jar of honey that I take a tea spoonful of every so often (such a rich sweet flavour :clap

Hi I too miss my ice cream and lollies. I will admit to having an ocasional whippy but if I do its always before I take the dog for a walk around the lake and this way my levels are always ok after.

I too make my own ice cream now as suggested on here( thanks guys for posting ) with cream and frozen fruit in the icecream maker - I enjoy raspberries the best plus my levels are fine with this one. I made the mistake on my first batch of freezing it all in a huge tub. Now I weigh and freeze it in small pots so know the carbs plus not waiting what seems like eternity to be able to eat it

I find weight watchers fromage frais summer fruit layers and the limted edition nectarine /apricot yogurts are ok for me with around 6 carbs per pot. What suits one person may not suit another as I have been learning - even my GP has told me this so he tells me to test with my meter everytime I have something new.
I have tried other makes and was quite shocked how high some where that I used to eat before that were promoted as being ''free'' on a certain diet plan.

For the ice lollies I found some tip tops that are sugar free with trace of carbs in my supermarket, not quite the same as a cider lolly but does the job for me.

You can buy Da Vinci sugar free syrups I use it over yogurt and fruit. Comes in loads of flavours too. Nice to add to coffee.

Mate, if you're from Iceland, Skýr might just work.

About 11 gram protein, 3.5 g Carbohydrate, 0.5 percent fat or less. You could add a couple spoonfuls of whipping cream to that and the berries and I think it would be alright, too. It has that same thickness that greek yoghurt does.

Sugar free jelly with double cream stirred in before it has fully set .Strawberries dipped into melted dark choc .My suprise pudding
A square of dark choc in an individual dish with hot raspberries poured over the top hiding the choc and then topped with cream and/ or a small portion of very good quality ice cream

Eat whatever you like. Life's too short

 :eh:

It will be even shorter if you eat whatever you like!

My sweet choice at the moment is Greek Yoghurt, a small amount of mixed berries, dessert spoon of chai seeds and a little sweetener - scrummy and filling. Good for brekkie too!

I don't agree with this. A small carton of strawberries can keep in the fridge for quite a few days. They are my sweet treat and I can't imagine getting through the day without them. They're so sweet - they really hit the craving, and they're low GI. Even if you only make it through half a carton before throwing them out, it's worth it I reckon. I'd give them a try.

I agree, strawberries stay fresh in the fridge for quite a while...

Sugar free jelly and double cream or clotted cream. Cream is the diabetics nectar
