hi everyone, you all prob know mum now from my previous posts, but today somthing surprising happened! she got up as normal and had her usual low carb breakfast then she had her insulin 16 units ( seems to be working well at mo), thenshe carried on her normal day, anyway about 2 hrs after lunch whenshe was thinking about what to have for tea she suddenly said " o my god ive not had my insulin today at 1pm" this was at 3.15pm and although she was her usual wobbly self she had no other symptoms, i was amazed! i told her to take 4 units then just to be safe and she did she then said my wobbles feel a bit better two hrs later her bg levels had not changed!! question;; does this mean she is producing some insulin of her own? i got quite excited or am i being dim?
she has had no problems at all and her bloods have remained steady. she usually has 16 16 and 14 after tea, then her lantus 34. anyone any ideas??
please
p.xx

Best wishes to both of you

i guess it depends what she ate at the meal where she missed her insulin, if her basal is at the right dose and she didnt eat many carbs this will account for it, for instance at tea yesterday my blood was 4.6 i had salad and a home made burger so didnt inject my bolus(not enough carbs) and i was 4.8 at my next check at suppertime, :) hope this helps x
