:D end of week 2 on the Newcastle Diet. Fasting this morning reading was 5.6. this is amazing for me because 2 wks ago it was 19.5 & sometimes over 20. Weight loss this week 6lbs.... 2 week total 13lbs. It's not easy but it's working. Yesterday was my worst day & I really struggled not to eat the wrong food but persevered. Glad now!

Well done

Very good,
well done, keep up the good work,

every time you feel hungry and struggle think that that is your success.

Based on my own experience and reading other peoples posts, for the diet to work you must set a target weight within the normal BMI range for your height and keep going until you reach it.Because Newcastle did it for 8 weeks the assumption seems to be that this is what it takes, however I think this will vary from person to person.

The diet was based on observations of bariatric patients, and the only one I know did not finally reach her base weight until nearly a year,at which time she weighed 10st 7lbs,down from somewhere north of 22 st!.

I took only 7 weeks to make my target of 12 st,however I had already used conventional exercise and diet to come down from 16.5st to 13.5st,so I was half way there before I started.

Well done riannbo, you must feel really encouraged, don't stop even if your weight stalls for a bit, its the bg levels that matter.
Well done again

thank you all so much for your encouragement. It's been hard because I have a big appetite & am greedy as well  so cutting down this much has been a struggle. BUT I am very determined this time to stick it out until I reach my target weight of 9st 9lbs. It's a dream I am gonna make come true. xx
