hi, i wonder if anyone has ever experienced tailbone pain, it must be related to the weight loss so im not comfortable complaining but its making life kinda painful, i can no longer sit anywhere without pain in the tail bone, this includes driving or even sitting in my hugely padded sofa watching tv and just forget situps its not difficult its impossible, i am sorry if this is off topic from db but wondered if anyone knew of a cure or any relief from this?
Thanks

Off the top of my head I don't know for sure TBH but is the pain the same no matter what position you're in and is it constant? could be referred pain possibly?*

*I've experienced that in the past in the same area.

Hi thanks, it only hurts when I sit, it's kinda like my tail bone is sticking out and it's bruised or something, as the weight has come off the pain has got worse, like the padding has gone, I haven't fallen or anything, I explained it to the wife s if I was sitting with all my weight on my nose, lol imagine if you did a nose stand on the sofa, it gets worse the longer I sit

Hi Andy,

You might get some relief if you roll a large towel up in a sausage shape and pad your tailbone with it.

I find it hurts when I am sitting in the bath.

Andy, I dont think its weight related, I have had this a couple of years ago, I had to have steroid injections, took about a month for it to clear up.
Have a look here: http://homeremedies4u.hubpages.com/hub/ ... tting-down

I could barely sit, I made cushions out of bubblewrap and my daughters water wings, this gave a bit of relief.

Get back to your doctor and make him/her work for you for a change (I saw your other post re your blood test results), maybe ask for a double appointment with the doctor of your choice, this would give you a bit more time to discuss your issues.

Good luck x

Hi Andy,

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I am skinny and that is why my tailbone, coccyx, hurts.
You actually have a condition called coccydinia, this article explains it.

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/coccydinia ... auses.aspx

If you can relate to anything in the article that needs a G.P. to investigate then I suggest you go and see him.

Take care,

CC.
P.S. I don't think an overconsumption of jelly is in any way to blame.

I've had the same pain before. I found it easiest to either lie down and watch TV or stand up.
It took a few weeks to go away. Not sure if slouching in bed watching TV propped up with pillows was putting pressure on the base of my spine.

Hi Andy. I had the same problem a few months ago. Pain started up oit of nowhere and was excruciating when I sat down. Went away after a week or so. Good luck at the docs and I hope you are pain free very soon
