Hi - You've a lot going on and it takes strength to ask for help. Well done. This forum is privileged to be part of your team and on your side, but with so much happening in your health and well being it is important that you take whatever you read here in the context of what your health care professionals are saying. Lots of great practical advice so far so I'll try not to add to the noise but a few things to add: i) because of your anxiety bear in mind that the Diabetes journey creates lots of opportunity for anxiety. Whenever something concerns you, blood test results, physical events, whatever, share them here and people will help you interpret - chances are someone will have the answer. ii) you've been in a personal crisis for a long time - try to stay patient. Don't expect instant results. Don't overwhelm yourself with a big plan. Just take this day by day. Make a plan for tomorrow. Then try the next day. Then maybe make a plan for a week. Then two weeks. It gets easier. iii) there are bumps in the road. If you hit one, come here, rant about it, then hit reset and go again. iv) there are no stupid questions. If you feel able to, talk to your son about this forum. It may be helpful for him to set up his own profile, so if you have some difficult moments he can come and ask questions on your behalf and help you get through it. There are quite a lot of people with diabetic relatives who use this site. I'm sure he's hurting too given all you have been through together.
