After 10 years of being T2 on various meds none of which worked particularly well. I am starting a Basal-Bolus regime with 50u Lantus and 3 doses of 14u of Novorapid I was just looking for some hints and tips please.
Make sure you check your bg regularly to avoid hypoglycaemia, you should also purchase a good book that lists the carb content of food so you can match this to your insulin doses, the Calorie Carb & Fat Bible is a good comprehensive guide.
Hi. Do investigate carb-ounting so you match the insulin to your food and not vice-versa. Those number of units are quite high and imply you may have some excess weight? If not already low-carbing you need to be doing that to possibly get both excess weight and the nunber of units down otherwise you could get into a weight-gain spiral
