Hi Darren, sorry to hear you have concerns about your medication, why do you think it is causing you problems?

The best thing to do is have a talk with your doctor about your concerns and what you want to do

Hi. Metformin is a good safe drug so don't worry about taking it. It reduces blood sugar by a small amount. The decision to take statins should be based on your cholesterol (lipids) results and their ratios. Don't just take them because you have diabetes or your cholesterol total is above 4. Look at your blood test results and possibly stop the statins for a very short while before the next review to check your natural lipids levels; a fasting test gives the most reliable results. Discuss the results with the GP.
