Hi Folks
I've been diagnosed Type 2 for about 6 months and doing well on diet control. In the first 3 months I lost almost a stone and that helped my BG control considerably, however, my cholesterol remained high so I was put on statins. What interests me is that since I've been taking statins my BG levels are consistently normal. Before they were up and down a lot, naturally depending on what I'd eaten. Now they are normal even two hours after 8 chocolates! (I know! But it was Christmas :D)
Can anyone explain it?
All the best

Hi
If you get any pains with taking satins tell your doctor. I put up with pains in my leg for over 2years until I read an article from the diabetic magazine that stated in a letter that this person stopped taking them because of the side effect. I followed her action and told the doctor who said Oh I know this can happen and changed my tablets.Although the pain is a lot less .the damage has been done.
A lot of people have no ill effect using statins but I am not one them

Mags,

Most people on here usually complain that statins have increased their BS levels, so your case seems to be unusual. Are you are your meter isn't just stuck?
