@patco1 when I was diagnosed as T2 my hba1c was 48 and I was prescribed Pravostatin and after starting them my hba1c rise to 54. Due to side effects I came if the statins and my hba1c went down to 42 and, 2 years later, is now 36 so I believe that it was the statins that caused my BS to rise.

Thankyou for your reply. I have worked so hard over the years and really struggled to keep BS at a good level. I was really disappointed when doctor changed my statins as I had just been through another struggle with levels coping with something else. She was quite insistent that I change so I will have to persevere. So far I have had to increase my insulin dose by 5 units and I am still pretty high i.e between 10 and 12 on meter. Still, it is comforting to know someone else has experienced this so I will continue to work at it and see where it takes me. Regards to you and best wishes for your good health.
