My GP told me to stop taking them immediately if I get any stomach or muscle pains and he will give me a different type.
I also got prescription for Simvastatin last year i never ever took them and told my hospital consultant (another different one who does not even know me) she said you must start taking them even though my cholostrel level is good at 4.0.I go back in december and still have not took them i really dont know what to do for the best because i dont think them doctors know a thing.By the way do any other type 1 diabetics get their annual flu jabs???i had one since they fisrt came out about 15years (i think i may be wrong) but last year i thought no i will not it get this year and i never even got a cold!!so i am not getting it this year either because every year i got the ful jab i wasnt ill after it but i always seem to get a chest infection about february and its strange this year i never!!What does anyone else think of the flu jab?DiabeticSkater said:I got a prescription for Simvastatin. Still not sure if I want to take it or not. Need to do a little more research. From what I've read so far the pills can increase mortality but I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not. Who wants life extending by 12 months if your in no shape to live.
hmmmmmmm?
DiabeticSkater said:Had my bi-annual check up yesterday. The consultant has recommended I start taking statins which will prevent complications. what's your experience with statins and any possible side effects. The consultant did mention something about leg cramps.
Also do any of ya take ace inhibitors which have shown in some studies to prevent kidney damage.
Thanks
