So ive had diabetes for 3 years the longer i have it the more concerned i get about my need for a sweet after lunch or dinner. Is it a big issue having these treats if ur sugars are grand after or if ur reducing ur carb intake so you can enjoy life?

The reason i ask is because everytime i eat a cake or something i feel
Guilty and worried about the possible complications but in the same thought just want to enjoy my food.

Thoughts welcome.

Re: Stay away from cake!

Shouldnt be a carb amount there just pure sugar. Id say personally start around 8-10 units for that amount of sugar. But thats not good even i know that and im a cake fiend.

Re: Stay away from cake!

If something has sugar in it it has carbs. Pure sugar 100g for example would be 100g of carbs (of which sugar 100g). Looking online it says that those Lindt truffles have 16g of carbs per 3 sweets.

Re: Stay away from cake!

Just realised you said Choc bar! What cocoa percentage was it? The higher the percentage the less carbs it will have.

I analysed your chocolate on the myfitnesspal App
I assumed a dark chocolate 85% Cocoa 100g bar. Please tell me if different?

Daily allowance. Lindt Lindor

Calories. 1070g. 530g.
Carbohydrates 271g. 19g.
Fat. 66g 46g
Protein. 74g. 11g
Sodium. 2500mg. 30mg
Sugar. 39g. 14g.

Of course I do not know how active you are, I am retired and choose a sedatory lifestyle in the App, and then add activities, if I put in
Say 3 hours of gardening my daily allowance will increase.
