My daughter has Type 1 and is pregnant. Does anyone know if saving the stem cells from cord will help her or the baby in any way?

the umbilical cord blood and stem cells can be used to replace bone marrow for transplants, there are other uses, some very experimental.

The NHS will collect and store any donations but they would be avialable to anyone needing them.

If you want to keep them for personal use then it's a private storage company.

So the answer is yes, it is worthwhile saving them and donating them if you feel so inclined.
