Hello, is it possible to step back from insulin and return to my old regime of victoza and metformin, i am on humalog mix 25 and it is doing me no good on the levels of blood sugars plus i have gained 2 and a half stone in approx 3/4 months.
I appreciate i need to speak to my medical team but i was just asking on here.

You could ask to go onto metformin and keep on the insulin and see if that helps your levels.

sorry should have added i am on metformin with the insulin, 4 tablets per day

What is your diet like? Do you eat a lot of carbs? Have you ever tried Sitagliptin (Januvia)?

You need to tell us a bit more about your levels, what you eat and the reason why you were put on insulin.

It could be that your pancreas is worn out and you need the insulin, but it could be that by making adjustments to your diet that you could reduce the amount of insulin you take.
