I had a steroid injection in my knee on Friday and since then my blood readings have really spiked. It did say this might happen on the bumph I got with it, but I’m a little concerned as I’ve worked really hard to control it, and now this. It doesn’t say how long it will last. Any ideas please?

Steroids are well known for raising blood sugars, any pain you are getting from your knee will also be contributing. All you can do is pay extra attention to your diet and try your best until the knee problem is resolved. Maybe a visit to the Dr, some medication might help until things settle down.

I've had a few one-off steroid jabs in my hands (trigger fingers) , and they definitely raised my glucose levels by 3-4 points and kept them up for several days, before returning back down to my usual levels.

I've actually found that it's usually been various non-dietary issues that can cause temporary higher levels than my actual diet generally does. Since these are beyond my control it's been a matter of "sitting things out".

The raised BG following steroids for me can take between a few days to several weeks, depending on injection or tablets, and how ill I have been to need the steroids in the first place. The post injections raises , recovery take the longest .
Hard to be patient, but sitting it out, and drinking more water seem to be all I can do. I have had allergic type reactions to injections, so will avoid in futyre. Tablets I need several times a year. Sometimes the cure feels worse than the condition.

Hope things improbe for you soon, @Smarty_pants .
