I had a blood test a few weeks ago and was called into the surgery as my glucose was 12 after a fasting blood test and my HbA1c was 58.
A repeat test of the blood glucose was normal and the nurse noticed a second normal blood glucose test result on the date of the first blood test.
She checked with the lab and they said that they high result was an error as someone had tested the blood from the wrong vacutainer.
However the HbA1c result is high - does anyone know what happens to that result if they use the wrong blood test tube?
I have to have the test repeated in 3 months.
Meanwhile I am assuming that I dont have Type 2 and am eating a normal diet.

Dont worry, just wait for another HbA1c test in 3 months. If you are concerned you can always get a quick fasting test at most Lloyds chemists just to set your mind at rest.
