hi guys
well its been a while since i looked in here to be honest i think my Drs are taking the urine. i had abit of a wake up call in july/august abcess an then Fournier's gangrene all blamed on Type 2 along with all other medical conditions that i have had before they said i had type 2
just wondering what peoples bg readings were first thing in the morning fasting, i got a meter an mine is normaly around the 5.6 - 6 i only check it in a morning seeing as tight docs wont give me a meter. but i havent took meds for a month and i get that reading . i take that many just to function through the day i bin them for a month every 3, yerr yerr i know not a good idea but when you have lost all confidence in your GP an the practice tried to change GP but as of yet no one local has been taking on new people. im not down in the dumps about it but i am peeved that now i have Type 2(acording to them ) everytime i got to the GP its always the T2 they blame it on last time i had HbA1c it was 41 in july 2nd this year good or bad i don't know because they did not say just rang me back an said it was fine. i could go one but it feels like i have moaned on about it for ages i just never get a positive answer from my so called doctor an you wanna smash their faces in till your hands are all bloody an numb

cheers for reading

Hi Riff, welcome. HbA1c of 41 is typically regarded as being at the top end of non-diabetic (43-47 prediabetic, >48 diabetic), so that's good control, well done. There is a popular ongoing thread on T2 fasting levels, yours are very similar to mine at the moment.

thing is Rod i havent changed my diet very much i still eat sweets, chocolate.pasta,an bread and everything else that i used to. so it pretty much makes a mockery of the fact my doc says i have T2. i think they cocked the tests up

there are other things that can trigger a high blood glucose level besides diabetes, without a change in diet, See your Dr for further tests but I'd agree and say you aren't diabetic and it is/was something else
