Is this weird?
I was tad overweight at diagnosis in October. After diagnosis, doctor asked me to lose about 10 pounds. I saw a dietitian, researched diet for diabetes to death and learned all about carbs and the effects on blood glucose. Cut those carbs and sit around 20-25 per meal. My meter rarely says about 120 two hours after meal, and my first A1C was way down. The app I am using to track my numbers suggest it will be in the "normal" range next time.
But here is the problem. I lost the 10 pounds. I am not big eater so meals aren't huge. I lost more weight. I am eating what works for the meter, but I think I am not eating enough calories. All the meal plans are designed for weight loss, but I am now down almost 30 pounds from where I started! I can't lose any more.
So my question is, how do you get more calories without the carbs??? This is making me crazy. I am taking metformin, type 2. My blood glucose responded right away to the new dietary changes so I am not concerned I think with a wrong type 1 diagnosis as the weight loss happened after I changed things up. And my numbers are really good (when I am.)
So what to do?
