Add an egg or two to that and I will come over and join you for breakfast!

I asked my doctor about monitoring my BG but she said I should not do that as meters are not 100% accurate
and if I did not get the results I wanted or thought I should have then I would just worry about it all the time
Well I got a meter anyway...naughty me I won't tell her.... and tried testing once a day for a few days mostly at breakfast time... frightened to do it at tea time in case I was eating all the wrong things and my BG went sky high.
Still not sure on the readings I got if they are good or bad. Mornings before breakfast BG have been in 7's and 6's after two hours gone down to low 6's or in the 5's
Example today my GB was 6.6 before breakfast I had 2 slices of turkey bacon, with mushrooms and tomato cooked in a ceramic coated pan on the top of the stove with a smidging of olive oil not 2 hours yet so have not tested
Is this all the wrong stuff to eat
I have read a lot about low carbs on here and it seems most of you say it is the only way to control BG but not sure what low carb is as you all seem to do it a different way. I decided I would cut out starchy foods so have stopped bread potatoes rice pasta and all cakes and biscuits etc I do love all root veg though but some say they are bad for BG I eat all leafy greens I especially like spinach love it raw in salad or cooked.I have always been one of natures lean kind so weights not a problem.
Yesterday for tea I had turkey, black cabbage.. a type of chard.. and celariac mash hope that was good but I did not test. This would be a good example of what my evening meals would be with mostly chicken and fish

It can be scary sometimes to find out if you get high numbers but temporary high values cause no harm; it's when it is constant it become a health issue.
