CHEESE!!!
I had a really bad stomach yesterday to the point I had to go home from work - It felt like food poisening but tracing back to what we had ate and everyone else had also had the same I think it was just a 24 hour bug. I tested throughout the day and even with the aid of insulin I just could not get my levels below 10, they hovered between 10 - 12 all day with 1 rise to 14, I didnt eat anything all day and could only manage a glass of water in the day. I tested ever hour or 2 with the above results.

Ive woken up feeling a big better if not a bit dizzy, but blood sugars were high @ 15. I just hope the insulin is a bit more responsive today as I really need to eat something and a bit worried my bloods are going to rocket!

Would you say this is normal? insulin uneffective etc. High blood sugars from a bad stomach etc

A few weeks ago I had an awful bout of food poisoning and had to have antibiotics to get it under control. It lasted about 2 weeks and it was another two before I was back to normal. During this time my BG was all over the place and way higher than my usual 3.7 to 6.8 range. It was so haywire I gave up testing for a spell!

We never discovered the cause and my wife who had the same meals was unaffected.

I did lose 10lbs so as they say, every cloud...

Thanks, I feel OK. now & BG back to normal.

I was able to keep hydrated and so the weight loss was sustained. Not the ideal way to lose weight though!
