Stopping hypos

Hi @lou44 ,

Can you please provide more information regarding your daughter's insulin regime and diet ? (Type of insulin, number of units, injection time (relative to eating), what she eats for breakfast.)

Have you discussed the hypo issue witha specialist or her GP?

Hi. She's on Insulatard & novorapid when goes over 15. Her eating is a bit all over the place sometimes eating sometimes not . She can be really high before bed & still go hypo by the morning even with some milk during the night. Only time she doesn't seem to have hypos is when she's on the steriods

I am not sure how you work out her insulin dose requirements? It's certainly not something that forum members should be advising on.

Here is some more info about Insulatard that you might find useful.

I strongly suggest that you speak to the GP or hospital consultant about the situation.

Any chance of a referral to a diabetes consultant (Endocrinologist) at the hospital?

Hi I replied to your other thread however I use half a teaspoon of jam for my 2yr old regardless of the time to bring her sugars up its the only thing that I can get down her without a struggle.

If he / she has a night dose you can reduce that if not if he / she has a accu check expert or a carb metre then you could give less insulin for that by reducing the ratio
