Storing insulin in Frio wallets on holiday

Am going away on holiday tomorrow and have purchased Frio wallets for transporting insulin and keeping cool whilst away....have just got a couple of questions...
..what do people do with insulin when they get to destination...would you put it in fridge in room or keep in the Frio wallet and reactivate as necessary...normally I would keep all medication in the safe as you never know who is coming in to clean the room and at least then I know it is in a safe place where only we can access it..
...also I am assuming the pen in use needs to be kept in the Frio wallet to keep it cool when in a hot climate (will be high 20s / low 30s)...do you need to take it out a while before use to get it back to 'room temperature' or can you use it immediately...

No you can use the pen straight from the Frio Wallet, it's up to you how you store your spare pens/cartridges, I've used room fridges before without any issues.

Have a great time @Molly56

I've always left insulin in the fridge. No-one has ever stolen it.

Also, if you are away for a couple of weeks in total, you can keep it out of the fridge. I just means that it will have a life of about 28 days.

And I've never used a Frio wallet to carry pens around in 30-40 degree heat. I've kept the pen in a bag, but it's never been an issue with it denaturing and becoming unusable.

@noblehead @tim2000s ....thank you for your replies....I guess whether he uses the Frio wallet or not will depend how easy he finds it to use when he packs his insulin tomorrow before we leave....and as you correctly say the pens can be kept out of the fridge anyway for 28 days which will cover the duration of the holiday....with temperatures on the journey being relatively consistent I am guessing it will be ok just to transport in hand luggage in their original packaging....and the Frio wallet will only be required if insulin being taken out in higher temperatures once we get there...is a bit confusing as the first time he has had to take insulin away on holiday...
