Hi, wonder if anyone has had similar experience..I'm type 2, nearly 3 yrs since diagnosed & up until may it was managed by diet only but BS were getting too high so Dr advised take metformin-2x 500 mg daily. take anti depressants as well... setraline- 100 mg n mirtazipine 45 mg.dr started me on mirtazipine in July, bn on setraline since feb.

3 months ago I had a very strange day, will relate what I've bn told about it as got v little memory of it. gave colleague lift to work as usual... have very little recollection apart from her coming to door. she told me I was driving very erratically and after about a mile, she made me pull in to car park as had hit the front tyres twice n burst both. rest of day is a blur with windows of what I did. first positive recall is about 7 pm that night!! seemingly had went to work and was acting quite strange, nxt day went to Gp who sent me to hosp who kpt me in overnight n did tests for mini stroke or other possible causes. nothing showed up & drs are at a loss as to what went on with me that day..
on admission BS were 14.9..was advised surrender driving licence to be on safe side and reapply later when dr advised it b ok. as they don't know what happened, Drs are at a loss as to when they can say I'm fit to drive again
but of a garbled account I'm afraid. bn off work since that day n I'm totally exhausted although not sleeping. anyone had any similar situations or any advice could give me?

Hi Haze, so sorry to hear you had such a tough time! I hope you are starting feeling better now. Its amazing what high blood sugars can do to the body, I had a virus last weekend and my BGs shot up, and I fainted twice. Out like a light, hit my head and my a*se on the way down what a mess!

You mention that you are managing your diabetes with diet, what do you mainly eat? Many of us recommend a reduced carbohydrate diet, not sure if you are doing that - have a read though the post below, and come back with any questions.
