Hi all Started 10mg of Jardiance 6 weeks ago now & reduced Glimeperimide from 6 to 3 mg per day. Am also low(ish) carbing. I do need to speak to my DN because I have had several low readings over the past two days and am concerned I have lost my hypo awareness! When I started the Jardiance my readings were well up in the teens and rarely went below 10 at any time. If for some reason I did drop to anything below 6 I would start to feel shaky and feel effects of a possible hypo coming on. Over the past 4 weeks my readings have dropped like a rock, I am now waking to about 5.6 and rarely go above 8 but over the past two days I have had three occasions where I have been VERY low (well...for me!) and quite sleepy. My hubby woke me up after a nap in bed today because he was worried I hadn't eaten for 4 hrs (but 4 hrs prev I had an egg on one slice of toast) so I felt okay but tested and was truly shocked to get a reading of 3.5! I admit I panicked & had some glucotabs which put me up to 5.6 within 15 mins which I flooded up with my tea & some carbs. I haven't had (so far) any of the commonest side effects and drink lots of water etc but the non sign of low sugar worries me and I also think maybe it is time to stop the Glim. I also notice I am feeling very anxious and irritable. I don't know if it is a side effect, or because I am low carbing to try to lose weight and am worrying constantly about hypos. I know the nurse will prob nag me to eat more carbs! I have lost 8 lbs so far and otherwise feel very well so a bit of advice would be great. Thanks.
