Saw diabetic Consultant this week. He said a rather strange thing during Consultant:

'You can't have diabetes, you look too well'.

Well I was dumbfounded. I can't write what I was thinking.

Strange thing to say when my BS levels range from 11.5 in morning to 20+ before bed. I wonder sometimes if Consultants aren't being put under too much pressure from NHS hierarchy to reduce diabetes expenditure at all costs, unfortunately to detriment of patient's.

Sounds a bit strange given your BS readings - but then I experienced several hypo's and the GP's (yes more than one) said "Never heard of anything like that!" Good job I had something handy to eat!

As I mentioned in another post, my Diabetic Consultant said ' never dealt with one like you before' (because I'm type 3c). So reassuring to know.....:banghead:

not for my T2, but a Dr did tell me to go home and google it !!!!! great advice as I was not online at that time ..
  • for my heart failure with legs filling up with retained water .. I was told to stop wasting his (Dr) time and get a hobby
  • When having a heart attack in the Drs room he told me to stop being over dramatic and its a spot of ingestion  (hospital was not best pleased at the amount of damage I had on my heart from being ignored by the Dr )
  • T2 and ordered to eat more carbs and drink sugar drinks if I was feeling unwell .. and do not self test for sugar levels:mad:
This list could be soo much longer .. but my life to short !!!

My Hba1c was 100 on diagnosis and at my 3 month review it was down to 52 and my Dr told me "you are doing well but you will end up on insulin one day". I changed Drs
