Hi all. anyone have info on how stress affects bs levels? I've been living with the stress of unemployment for a year, and am about to undertake the stressful activity of moving house.

first - a warm welcome to the forum :)

stress can definitely adversely affect blood sugar levels.
depending on which medication regime you are on will affect measures you may be able to take to counteract any high readings.

Stress causes the release of cortisol, epinephrine and other "fight or flight" hormones that drive blood sugar levels up. This is a link to an article on MedicineNet/WebMD that provides a fairly neat summary of the effect. The net result is that you may have to compensate with medications and/or de-stressing techniques to keep your blood glucose levels under contrrol.
