I have been looking at articles and would like others opinions, my diabetes started after a year of stress, i was overweight(15st at 5ft 11) i also do not sleep well, does anyone think this contributes to diabetes and if so apart from giving up work to live in a wood carving spoons what does anyone else do to combat stress.

i do find higher reading after having a challenging day at work (i am not allowed to say **** anymore as it appears negative!)

https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/daily-mail-and-stress-and-michael-mosley.132349/ seems to address your questions, both that stress and poor sleep puts up BG and some strategies to reduce stress.

I believe one of the main reasons for my prediabetes is 20 years of poor sleep. I'm convinced of it. I am sleeping slightly better at the moment and have noticed a slight drop in fasting blood glucose.

Meditation is a good stress reliever and u can get apps to follow.
But really change of diet and increase exercise.
I no the feeling about stress i have had a few anxiety attacks and i felt walking for about 60min really helped and even more so when i went out with a hot water bottle up my shirt when i was ill which was really nice lol
