Does anyone else find getting stressed or angry raises their blood sugarsi always noticed when im stressed my sugars rise quite alot and then when ive calmed down i have a hypo am i the only one??
 
Stress - short term or longer term - is a well known negative influence on blood sugar levels. It's the never ending conflict between adrenaline, cortisol and insulin in our bodies.
 
Yes can definitely say that stressful situations can lead to high bg levels, @kat1989 if you know in advance that your going to be stressed you can bolus for it, Gary Scheiner talks about this in his book Think Like a Pancreas.
 
I find my sugars go up a bit but not had a drop afterwards. Some deep breathing when you feel it coming on sometimes help - breathe in slowly for seven seconds then slowly breath out for 11.
 
At the time of my diagnosis i felt really really stressed, dealing with mothers care agency workers not turning up, indifference from Social Services, calls from emergency services several times a day telling me that my mother had fallen again. I'm convinced this probably pushed me over the edge as far as diabetes goes.
