Struggled to get blood

I took my bloods fbg this morning, i started taken blood from my middle finger on right hand, blood hard to get, but none the less got small drop. my levels came out at 18.5,so I thought i would try my left hand a few minutes later and blood easier to get fbg 8.6. Why is it harder to get from one hand, and i am right handed.

You might have better circulation in one hand or some of your fingers may have been colder than the others, surprisingly it does make a difference.

I'm right handed and I always use my left hand for testing. TBH nowadays I only do FBG and before bed. Occasionally I don't prick my skin properly and there's not enough blood, but rubbing my hands together briskly helps warm up my fingers and blood flow.

I have difficulty getting blood and often have to try again - after the third attempt I give up completely! Whenever I have to have a blood test the nurse always good an extra long appointment because they often have problems and take 3-4 attempts using both arms - a couple of times they've given up and booked me in for the following week which is annoying particularly if it's a fasting one!!
