Finding today tough going food wise, not sure if it's because I didn't eat much yesterday - had a big breakfast out, a spoon of sugar free jelly and total yogurt for lunch as I was still full and then half a cauliflower base pizza for supper. This morning I had a couple of slices of bacon with scrambled eggs, about 12pm, a couple of 'oopsies' with ham, butter and cucumber. Then about 1.30pm, a piece of Brie, a piece of ham and some pepper and cucumber. About 3pm I was starving again so had a couple of oopsies with a spoon of chilli on them, once spread with butter.

Had been managing so well, proper no real carbs since Wednesday and only a slice of low carb toast on Monday and Tuesday major carb wise. Thought I had the LCHF thing sussed, but obviously not!!!

On the positive side all my glucose readings yesterday and today (before food and 2 hrs after) have been sub 7, much better than the 32 I was hospitalised with two weeks ago!

Hi @trinity0097.
Congratulations, great reduction on your blood Glucose,
You are obviously following a LCHF diet very well, and believe me, Stick with it as it will pay back with positive results.
The one thing when starting Low Carb, I that you can go through a bit of a Rough Patch for a While, but by day 7 or so you should start feeling more alive.

Stick with it
All the Best

That's am amazing reduction in blood glucose, and in such a short time!
Well done!

With such a rapid drop, your body will be experiencing a big transition.
Have you read about Carb Flu? it is basically a group of symptoms that occur when bg drops and the body has to adjust to near normal blood glucose levels for the first time in what may be ages.

Some poeple escape without any symptoms, others feel just like they have a virus. I got headaches (used paracetamol!) and had a few false hypos.
But my experience was that it was well worth sticking to the reduced carbs. The transition only took a few days, and I felt so much better afterwards.

I think the best way to get through carb flu is to eat masses of delicious low carb foods, never go hungry, drink more than you think you need, and make sure you get enough salt (some of the lc experts suggest drinking bovril or a stock cube dissolved in hot water, to supplement your salt intake). Odd as it sounds, this can really help.

I'm now at <50g carbs most days (sometimes <30g) and I only made the switch in December
Like you I noticed my BG is in an acceptable range with most readings in the 5's and 6's now

It took a week or so to adjust (with no real issues) and I have found eating when I am hungry helps - even if it is just a little cheese

The weight is coming off too and I'm not left feeling hungry

Stick with it and you will feel amazing in a few weeks time

We all have our days when for whatever reasons we feel cravings, I thought that it might had to do with my body adapting to the new "normal" blood glucose level but stick to the diet and you will get through it. I had a bad day this week when I felt cravings and I was very moody... and haven't had any cravings in a whole month!...
