Hi there my wife has been been a diabetic for about 5 years now . Recently her levels have been going up and she's generally been feeling really ill , its been between 15 and 22 in the last week or so. We are at the doctors on tuesday but was just wanting any advice

she is type 2 and on metformin 3 x 500 mg
her diets not bad , its been a lot lot worse
she's started with blurred vision , sweating and she's had test on her pancreas which have come back ok sometimes then other times something not right
lately we've been watching what she eats and her levels have still been going up

By a "not bad" diet do you mean she is following the official NICE diet for diabetics "just avoid sugar and keep the calories down a bit" or what many of us on the forum have found to work IE. cut all carbohydrates right down to almost zero.

Sorry to hear about your wife's illness. Obviously getting her to the quacks is the main thing. If it were me I would be cutting back or out sugar, potato, pasta, rice, bread cereals and sweets over the next day or so as it brings mu sugar levels down quickly. Lots of Meat,Fish,Cheese, Eggs and vegetables (non starchy) even soups with low carbs, water
She is lucky to have you looking out for her
