  • Thanks. Think I'll do the same. Type 2 for 12yrs and trying to also go off meds after going LCHF . Spent years following Diab Aus Low GI Diet only to have meds increase. Have decreased now to only 1/2 Diamicron so LCHF really works. Have not been able to get any more details from Diab Vic, Dr or Chemist about changes. No one seems to know.
Hi from another aussie. With the changes that come into effect in July and only give you 6 mth supply of strips have you any idea how many strips that might be and can you get a supply every six months ? Can't seem to find any more info than the basic changes they are making. IDIOTS!!!
    Hi
Just wondering where you found out the information about strips an type 2? Does that include type 2 on insulin?

    Cheers

    Hi @Cat0409_
You prbably need to post this under Type 2 Diabetes Forum. I would like to help but am in Australia where the system is different. But I will add that you should definitely get a meter and self test as it is the first and main step in taking control of your diabetes
Hi my weight has been slowly going down but this last week I reduced my carbs to 50 or below and it has made a big difference to my BS readings 5.5 yesterday 2 hours after lunch my best ever and lost another 2lb this week so its the carbs are the villain i'm thinking

    Hi Viv0147
Its a great result. And I should thank you because you reminded me and today I dropped my carbs to 24 to see how that impacts me tomorrow

I think you have learn t what it is all about. Keep it going and you can get right on top of this and then your options can open up
    Cheers
Hi! Following exercise My BS levels go up drastically, sometimes in double figures. I have tried having something to eat before a session or occasionally after with my oral medications but no real changes. So any suggestions will be welcome.

    Hi @Tejinder
I've just seen this on my profile and as I am reasonably new I wasn't sure if this was a direct question to me as I haven't had anything on my profile before. I would be interested to know what your BS was before exercising at waht levels it reaches afterwoods
