stubborn Blood Sugar

Today my fasting AM test reading was 6.6, I drank a pint of water, had 2 slices of raw Bitter Melon [which usually brings Blood Sugar down with exercise] and went for a 40 minute bike ride with a couple of hills thrown in. When I got back I took another test and it measured 6.6, I did not have anything else to eat and waited another hour before taking another test which measured 6.3.
Exercise usually brings my Blood Sugar down by around 1 or 2 points but for some reason it doesn't seem to be responding to exercise, this has happened to me before but I am unsure why, any advice or explanations would be much appreciated.

It's your liver doing a glucose dump.

If you don't eat enough fuel to keep going the good ol' liver wakes up and starts dumping some glucose into your blood.

If you add exercise into the equation then as you exercise your BGs start to drop even more, good ol' liver goes into overdrive and dumps loads of glucose for as long as it can.

Some people actually have higher BGs after exercise than before.

Try eating something with a few carbs in before exercise, it might help.
