Hi @lynbrown have you tested your reaction to bread? If I have bread I have the Hovis seeded bread (in the orange bag) which is 13 carbs per slice and 1-2 slices does not affect my BS. However, as @Bluetit1802 has already said, marmalade is probably not the best thing to have on it as it had a log of sugar - try ordinary butter, peanut butter, cheese or with eggs - poached, fried or scrambled!!I love toast and marmalade for breakfast. If I give upbread, would Ryvita with marmalade be a reasonable substitute? I would find life very hard without marmalade.
The Nairns Cheese Oatcakes are even lower at 3.7g
Got me thinking that i should try these not because i want to reduce my carbs though.Had my first Lidl high protein roll today and thought it was really tasty and I believe less than 10g carbs.

What's wrong with additives and preservatives? other than sugar obviously, one of the most popular preservatives, after vinegar, oh and salt.No no. I admit I haven't seen these LIDL rolls but I suspect they have additives and preservatives. Better to eat Nairns organic seeded oatcakes or just their plain ones. They are really lovely! 6 gms carbohydrates per oatcake.

Interesting the oatcakes are lower in carbohydrates by 2 gms. Noblehead do try the organic superseded ones. A little less crunchy but you get used to that and they are just so tasty.
but they do taste like carboard...IMHO of course
I am going to try them .. I seen the roll the other day and was wondering how they would fairHad my first Lidl high protein roll today and thought it was really tasty and I believe less than 10g carbs.

Hello, I'd be interested to have a link to this please. I can only find their "no added sugar" variety, which is far from low-carb, and their so-called diabetic marmalade, which has even more carbs. I'm reluctant to say how many carbs exactly since Tesco warn in their small print that the online data must not be reproduced without their permission!Do you know tesco make a sugar free marmalade
Glad I am not the only one who thinks the Lidl rolls are horribleNow I think those Lidl rolls taste like cardboard, tried one and didn't enjoy at all.
Needless to say we all have our likes & dislikes when it comes to food
