Hi everyone

Only been diagnosed for 2 weeks and struggling with my blood sugar levels.

Last night at 10pm I was 7.4mmol and I had my lantus 8 units. 45 mins later I felt a bit odd, tested and I was 2.5mmol. I was sat on the sofa for most of this 45 mins so no exercise. 4 hours previously I had dinner, chicken, veg and 4/5 new potatoes with 3 units of novorapid. And a banana for pudding.

Why did I drop so quickly? It's scary as I was going to go to bed at 10pm so could have hypo'd in my sleep.

Is a sudden drop common?!

Lantus shouldn't do this as it a basal (background insulin), wonder if you hit a muscle as this can speed up the rate at which insulin is absorbed, speak with your DSN on Monday morning and just test tonight for an hour or two after you've given yourself your lantus dose.
