So I'm a t1d, I was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago. since then, whenever I eat I suddenly get extremely exhausted which results in me having to take a nap. im not sure why my body does this and I was wondering if anyone else feels the same, and if they have if they've found the reason why :3

edit: I'd also like to note that this then plays hell with my sugars because eating and then sleeping just shoots them up. then I wake up with terrible highs despite taking the correct amount of insulin, even more than the correct sometimes.

I get very sleepy when my bg is high. Can it be you fall asleep because the meal spiked you and not the other way around?

How do you adjust your doses to your food? The correct dose is what keeps you mostly in range. If you go high after meals you might want to look into your insulin doses.
The timing is something to consider as well. Do you prebolus at all?

do you use a cgm? if so could be worth checking sugars graphs to see if you can work out a possible pattern. used to get tired prior to diagnosis after meals and for few months after whilst body got used to a 'new norm' speak with dsn/endo regards timings / i2c ratios.

have a look at following page: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/tiredness-and-diabetes.html

Could be worth checking if you have a food intolerance to something like wheat or milk.
