Suffering with headaches

Hi all, I've was diagnosed with type 2 2 months ago but now I have started to suffer with a headache. My eyes ache and if it's too light outside this seems to affect my eyes and makes my headache worse, my readings are a little high but only by one or two. Does anybody have any ideas. I'm on meteor in twice a day. Thanks in advance for your help.
 
It would be unusual to develop headaches as a side effect of a drug so long after starting it, but not impossible.

I think headaches are only a sign of high BGs once they are fairly high, say 10-11, but some people might be more sensitive and get them at lower levels.

How long have you had this headache? If it's more than a couple of days, I would see the doctor, if I were you.
 
Hi catdalyNZ thanks for your reply. Yes it's been about 5 days now. My readings are between 12-15 so yes they are quite high.

It might be the high BGs then? BGs should be between 4 and 8 as much of the time as possible. What sort of foods are you eating?

If @Daibell was here I'm sure she'd ask about your body size and age, to see if there's a chance you might have another kind of diabetes other than type 2. Looking at your previous posts your BGs seem to have increased since diagnosis, which seems a little unusual to me.

Another thing to note is that while metformin has many benefits, it doesn't reduce BG by very much - probably no more than 1 mmol. So it's better to focus on reducing carbs, and if that doesn't help, considering whether it's T2 or not.
 
Also try to drink enough water, as high BGs cause dehydration, which often causes headache.
