Yes, there is no mention of diabetes or complications on there as at that time my son was in intensive care for the first 3 weeks of his life, and because it is a public family website, was not going to go into detail regarding the problems with our son’s health as it is too upsetting for family members to read, although they know what the problems are. It is our attempt to lighten a worrying situation for my family. an attempt to celebrate the birth of my son against all the worry and problems. Also it’s only recently that our son has had extensive tests done and a MRI scan showing that he has been badly compromised, and there is brain damage due to the lack of oxygen he suffered at birth, as you can read in ‘my story’. My son is now classed as disabled, with stroke like symptoms to his upper limbs, and the doctors have said that he is highly likely to develop Celebral Palsy. He also fitted at birth too because his blood chemicals were all over the place which almost took his life. So you don’t know the full story behind all this but that is beside the point. The only reason my babysite was put on this forum was because a few people were accusing me of having a fake membership and somehow trying to work a scam (you can still find old post of me on this site going back to October saying I was new here that I am diabetic type 2 and was pregnant at the time). This initial posting on here was to warn people of the dangers of aspartame and what it could do to you. Bear in mind here that I am a healthy 34 year old, with a good diet, I don’t do drugs, not on any medication, and I don’t touch a drop of alcohol and haven’t done in over ten years. For my liver gamma readings to be that of a raging alcoholic, and the doctors to warn me that this reading indicates that it’s something I’m doing, (My dietry lifestyle) to cause my liver to be struggling so much, not only in late pregnancy but now after almost 4 months of giving birth, then in the words of that saying. You eliminate the probable, then what you are left with, even if its seems improbable, must be the truth. I know the only change in my diet in years, was the exclusion of sugar products and the inclusion of low sugar and sugar free products containing Aspartame. People have attacked me on this site, but that’s ok, I didn’t realise it would be such an emotive subject. In the end I am just trying to get the message across, and it has obviously caused a lot of fear in people to want to attack me, or accuse me of being upto something, the way some have. Being diabetic is hard enough, we don’t really have much support in the food industry, diabetic food products are few and far between. Now with the added complication of having to watch the Aspartame content, I’m not surprised people are kicking off. definitely a case of shoot the messenger here.

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/newforum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=899

Above is one of my first posts on this site going back to October 2007

This is awful that I have to defend that I am diabetic, that my son is disabled and that I am just trying to warn and help people with something that could be an issue when people don't even realise or want to believe that it is.

Regards

Claire

The Truth is out there
Rick Firstly, my baby website as you should be able to see has not been updated since Christmas 2007, which is obvious by the Christmas music which is still playing and also the updated dates on there. Yes, there is no mention of diabetes or complications on there as at that time my son was in intensive care for the first 3 weeks of his life, and because it is a public family website, was not going to go into detail regarding the problems with our son’s health as it is too upsetting for family members to read, although they know what the problems are. http://www.diabetes.co.uk/newforum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=899 Above is one of my first posts on this site going back to October 2007 This is awful that I have to defend that I am diabetic, that my son is disabled and that I am just trying to warn and help people with something that could be an issue when people don't even realise or want to believe that it is.
