Hi I am type 2 diet controlled are sugar free sweets OK to have or can they still effect my sugar levels.

They shouldn't have much impact on your sugar levels but be aware to eat them in moderation as some of the alternative/artificial sweeteners that they use in place of real sugar can cause diarhoa and stomach cramps if you consume too much. I find Malitol to be the worst.

Whilst they should not affect your BG, the usual advice is to ween yourself off sweets so you no longer have the desire for sweet things.
It is better to have an occasional nice tasting sweet or chocolate than lots of sugar free sweets or diabetes chocolate.

Non of the sugar free sweets I have tried have affected my blood sugar levels, mainly because they never stay in my mouth longer than the few seconds it takes for me to realize that they taste absolutely awful and spit them out. But that's just me.
