So for the last 10 days I’ve had cold really bad cough. When I’m home everything is fine.
But teaching and being in car for lessons I need something to suck on as teaching and coughing is a nightmare. Also really bad catarrh at back of throat which is really annoying and uncomfortable.
I had been having Hal’s sugar free which don’t seem to affect my sugars.
Running out and struggling to get to anywhere that sells them.
So ran in a chemist which didn’t and got myself some sugar free sweets instead figuring they would do same thing.
But I looked at values and carb in them is ridiculous.
How do they have that much carbs in if sugar free? Am I just being stupid.
So I’m trying not to eat them but only if desperate.

The photos are not clear enough to read the nutrition panels so I cannot see what's in them.

It's easy to claim that a product is sugar free if it has no 'sucrose' in it. But if sucrose has been replaced with dextrose or some other 'ose' it's still a type of sugar.

The polylols are the carbs. These do not affect some people's glucose, I have had a hit and miss experience and now avoid.

Ahhh! annoyingly I had fancied biscuits but didn’t! Might as well have had them really need to get my Hal’s! Although I’m fairness i didn’t check those so they could have been the same.
Just need this blooming cold to disappear and it will be fine

I’d go easy on them. Not only does maltitol spike me as badly as sugar, but the digestive effects a bit later aren’t pleasant.

Look up sugar free gummi bears if you have a rather basic sense of humour - having lived through a violent reaction to Metformin for several weeks I found it hysterical, and therapeutic.
Polyols/sugar alcohols are not digested by Humans, but the flora and fauna of the gut is delighted to assist in the breakdown of them - and feel free to party.

Yea I do. I had very bad gas last week as had few too many Hal’s. Seem ok if I spread through day and maybe one a lesson!
