Im following my low carb meald again after falling of the deep end no im not sure how much sugars grom carbs im allowed per meal any help appriciated thanks
There’s no hard and fast rule. Most people use their blood glucose meter to see which foods cause blood sugars to rise and then tweak their meals accordingly.
The aim is generally for a rise of no more than 2 mmols two hours after the first bite of a meal.
Hi. I would suggest you initially aim for 150gm/day or less of carbs and see how you go. Many have a lot less but more than that can cause both blood and weight gain unless you are very active.
It isn't just sugar- it's all carbs. As @Goonergal says- it varies from person to person. You will find that your meter is your best friend. You need to find out the level that your body can handle.
I personally find the less carb I eat the less I crave. I love carbs- my body does not. I don't think it is possible to go too low if not on any blood sugar lowering meds.
You need to find a level that your body can tolerate and that you can sustain.
