I've dumped the carb intake target and now checking food sugar per portion quantity.
I started 3 months ago when my blood sugar levels were 16.6mmo/l for a 90 day average when carbs intake were 150-220, often over 200. The last 90 days I've concentrated in sugar portion less than 5g,, and no more than 15g per day. Now my 90 day average BG is 10.6mmo/l.
So think it's working for me, can't speak for anybody else.
I found this conversion calculator useful as a guide https://www.hba1cnet.com/hba1c-calculator/

If it is working for you that is what matters

That's a great improvement. Well done. Still needs to come down a little further perhaps, but that's great news.

Well my update is
After 2 months of a diabetes team in June she was moved to another clinic and said my would be handled by another team member. Still waiting for a connection.
In October 25 decided to move doctor , been with them since hospital diagnosis in Nov 23, and wasn't happy with them. And to one the 2 practises at the health centre, in moving only some of medical records are now available namely medications, no test results or diagnosis's even after 3 requests, so not going to try again.
To date not had an appointment to discus diabetes, early Nov 25 got a diagnosis from the pharmacy of shingles in my upper leg down to my knee, after I had doctor diagnosed as sciatica. Another doctor gave 5 day medication. However since then still have pain but no rash, haven't bothered going back , lidacaine cream relief , also hay fever antihistamine helps.
Still keeping to less 5g of sugar per serving foods, in early Nov 25 stopped taking the BG blood prick tests , I wasn't seeing any improvement, fasting 5-7 , end of day 9-12 , 90 day average of 10.1.
Oh was on 1g metform and 0.5g glicazide after breakfast and after dinner, I'm considering doing once day before bed.

After 5 years still having 4-6 hours sleep waking 3 to 5 tines up to 2 hours duration, Doctor before move said it wasn't nueropathy , and would make a podiatry referral , that never happened, so left.

Have discussed with the new practise but again still waiting, again not going chase.

I have a very low confidence in the NHS especially doctors.
End of rant.

I'm requesting a account deletion.

Happy Christmas , hope you all get all the diabetes support
